Clinical Psychologist
Kylie, is a registered clinical psychologist under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA),and a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. She is also a registered provider with Open Arms - Veterans & Families Counselling.
She enjoys lecturing and tutoring undergraduate psychology at James Cook University and works across a variety of settings including the veteran and first responder community, rural and remote locations, and inpatient facilities. With a keen interest and research background in cognitive neuroscience she can help clients understand the connection between biological and psychological aspects of brain and behaviour. |
Approach
Kylie is trained in several evidenced-based psychological treatments including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Virtual Reality Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Kylie also delivers specialised PTSD / Trauma Therapy including EMDR, Flash, Brain spotting, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy.
Kylie utilises a biopsychosocial approach, taking into consideration individual biological, psychological and social factors, when performing assessment and planning intervention. With her sense of humour and warmth, along with her expertise, Kylie will make you feel at ease, help you find hope, gain clarity and make necessary changes to improve your well-being.
